Our Journey

Founded in 2009 by linguist Dr. Rachel Whitmore and Malaysian educator Azlan Ibrahim, EduMalaysia began as a small English tutoring center in Kuala Lumpur's heart. What started with just 12 students has grown into Malaysia's premier English language institution, serving over 10,000 international learners from 45 countries.

Our founders recognized Malaysia's unique position as a multicultural hub where English serves as the bridge language. They envisioned creating an immersive learning environment that combines rigorous academic standards with Malaysian hospitality and cultural richness.

Today, EduMalaysia operates three state-of-the-art campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Bahru, maintaining our commitment to personalized attention while embracing innovative teaching methodologies that prepare students for global success.

Dr. Rachel Whitmore

Co-Founder & Academic Director

With a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Cambridge University and 20 years of experience in ESL education, Dr. Whitmore has authored three textbooks on English language acquisition. She leads our curriculum development and ensures academic excellence across all programs while maintaining our student-centered approach to learning.

Azlan Ibrahim

Co-Founder & Executive Director

A Malaysian education pioneer with extensive experience in international student services, Azlan brings deep cultural insight and strategic vision to EduMalaysia.
